Local Homeowners Learn How to Pick the Best Contractor
Legacy CEO Lends Expertise to Cranberry Home Expo
PITTSBURGH, PA- September 17, 2009 – If it were up to Ken Moeslein, the hundreds of media stories each year about homeowners being swindled by unethical contractors would never exist. That’s why Moeslein will be leading a workshop for homeowners on guidelines to follow for choosing the right contractor on September 23, 2009 at 4pm at the Cranberry Home and Community Expo.
A 40-year veteran of the home remodeling industry, Moeslein is founder and CEO of Legacy Remodeling, one of the largest home remodelers in Western Pennsylvania. Through his years of industry experience and his position on Western Pennsylvania’s Better Business Bureau, Moeslein has come across numerous scenarios in which unknowing consumers have been cheated by contractors. To help homeowners avoid this from happening to them, Moeslein has developed a set of questions that consumers should ask before anyone works on their home.
Moeslein’s workshop will discuss these questions and other tips for homeowners on how to choose the best contractor for their home improvement jobs. “Choosing home improvement contractors can be overwhelming for consumers because they are often dealing with products that they have no experience with,” says Moeslein. “I look forward to the opportunity to share some advice on how to avoid getting scammed and getting the best job done for your money.”
This is not Moeslein’s first experience leading workshops; he was one of three remodelers to speak at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government for a program sponsored by The Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University. It was Ken’s privilege to speak to and field questions from a distinguished group of academics, manufacturers, government officials and publishers.
Having served on the Western Pennsylvania Better Business Bureau Board of Directors for the past 6 years, Moeslein has earned a reputation as both a fair and ethical businessman. In 2007 he was elected by his peers to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BBB.
